Indian mobile operator Aircel has launched 4G LTE services in Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir. The launch comes within a month of operator's recent LTE deployment in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha.

Vodafone New Zealand has selected Nokia Networks to enable the launch of its commercial 700 MHz LTE network in the country.

Cellcom Israel has launched its LTE network in the country after having received the Israeli Ministry of Communication approval to use a 5MHZ 1800MHz frequency band (already in the Company's possession) for its LTE network, under certain conditions, even before the completion of the previously reported 4G frequencies tender.

UK operator EE  has turned on LTE network in new 21 towns including many rural towns in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the South West, East Midlands, and North West of England. Operator has also made 4G available to customers in Cornwall for the first time, bringing the total to 250 towns and cities

Optus is turning on its first commercial 4G LTE 700MHz network in Darwin and Perth CBDs. The launch follows the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) granting Optus an early access commercial licence for 4G 700MHz spectrum.

China Mobile plans to build more than 500,000 4G base stations by the end of 2014. Operator will enable 4G international roaming services in another 50 countries or regions, reports Xinhua. 

Huawei announced EE, the BBC, Qualcomm Technologies and Huawei are collaborating in to exploring the role that 4G can play in the future of broadcasting.

ZTE has introduced its first pre-5G concept. At the LTE World Summit 2014 in Nice, France, ZTE announced that under certain conditions some 5G technologies can provide a 5G-like user experience on 4G terminals without changing the air interface standards. 

Alcatel-Lucent and Telenor Group have signed a global frame agreement making Alcatel-Lucent a candidate provider for 4G LTE networks to the subsidiaries in 13 countries in Europe and Asia.

ZTE announced that the company won a major mobile network contract from Cambodia's mobile operator Sotelco. ZTE’s wireless solutions will be deployed in Sotelco’s networks for 2G, 3G and 4G services.
