ZTE has announced a 4G active distribution solution that supports multi-frequency and multi-mode network deployment with superior indoor performance.

ZTE has signed a contract with Slovak operator SWAN for a nationwide LTE network project. As part of the agreement, ZTE will construct core CS/PS (circuit-switched/packet-switched) network, and a GSM/LTE mobile communications and VAS (value added services) network

Huawei announced the successful implementation of the GSM-LTE Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (GL DSS) trial with Vodafone Spain today. GL DSS is able to improve LTE capacity by up to 50% through maximizing wireless spectrum utilization, reports Huawei.

Indonesia’s telecom operator Telkomsel has upgraded its GSM and 3G HSPA+ network across the country using NSN’s radio and core network as well as comprehensive services.

Brazil’s operator Oi Brasil has selected Nokia Solutions and Networks to supply the infrastructure for its LTE network. In addition to that, NSN will also upgrade the operator’s GSM and 3G networks across the country. 

Nokia Siemens Networks has announced introduction of a range of new features to its Liquid Radio Software Suites to help operators address constantly changing capacity demands. The update includes a new LTE Software Suite as well as new WCDMA and GSM Software Suite applications. 

South Africa’s telecom service provider, Vodacom has selected Nokia Siemens Networks’ Liquid Core to enable circuit switched fall-back (CSFB) functionality in its LTE network. This functionality allows LTE users to make and receive voice calls using either the GSM or 3G network while retaining the benefit of data services via LTE.
