Movistar Guatemala has launched commercial LTE services in the country. Movistar LTE service is now available at major points in the capital city, provincial capitals and some tourist sites.

Movistar Colombia Launches LTE Service in Santa Marta

Movistar Colombia has launched 4G LTE network in Santa Marta. Operator aims to provide LTE coverage to 58 major cities across the country by July 2014 and plans to increase the coverage to 313 municipalities by 2018. 

Movistar and Tigo Launch LTE Networks in Colombia

Colombia’s mobile operators Telefonica subsidiary Movistar and Tigo have launched services. Tigo has launched LTE network in cities of Bogota, Medellin, Barranquilla and Bucaramanga. whereas Movistar has also launched LTE network in same cities as well as in Cali.

Movistar Picks Nokia Siemens Networks for LTE and 3G Expansion in Chile

Movistar Chile has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to implement its LTE network in 2.6 GHz frequency band. According to company, the contract covers the capital area, Greater Santiago, with close to six million inhabitants, as well as other cities such as Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. 

Telefonica Mexico to Start LTE Service in October

Telefonica Mexico is deploying LTE in the country  through its Movistar brand. The LTE service will be available from October this year. The announcement was made by Juan Antonio Abellán, CEO of Telefónica Mexico.

Telefonica to launch femtocell services
