Vodafone Spain plans to roll out commercial deployment of LTE Advanced to enable speeds up to 300 Mbps in download in October. Furthermore, the operator is testing Voice over LTE technology to facilitate High Definition voice calls (HD Voice) with setup time less than one second. 

Australian carrier Vodafone has announced that it is completely modernizing and consolidating its core network with Ericsson. According to operator, its new core network will offer greater network agility and flexibility, create cost efficiencies, and enable the introduction of new LTE (4G) services. 

Vodafone New Zealand has selected Nokia Networks to enable the launch of its commercial 700 MHz LTE network in the country.

Vodafone UK has successfully tested Voice over LTE at its specialist laboratory in Newbury, Berkshire. VoLTE will allow voice calls to be carried across Vodafone’s 4G data network, instead of using the 2G or 3G voice network as they do today.

Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Vodafone Group as a Supplier of Reference for LTE metro cells with integrated Wi-Fi capability. The award is part of Vodafone’s investment program, Project Spring.

Huawei announced the successful implementation of the GSM-LTE Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (GL DSS) trial with Vodafone Spain today. GL DSS is able to improve LTE capacity by up to 50% through maximizing wireless spectrum utilization, reports Huawei.

Vodafone Spain has announced the availability of its 4G service in all provincial capitals and in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, from April 1. 4G services will be available in more than 220 municipalities, among which are the 80 Spanish cities with over 70,000 inhabitants.

Vodafone Australia has launched 4G LTE network in Tasmania, following successful live trials in recent weeks in West Moonah, Cambridge, New Norfolk, Warrane and Hobart Airport. 

Vodafone New Zealand has signed more than 300,000 Kiwis onto its 4G-enabled plans since launching LTE service one year ago today. Operator reports 177% increase in 4G customers over the last six months and significant growth in 4G prepay base, over 30,000 since plans launched about 8 weeks back.

Vodafone Germany has conducted live tests with LTE Broadcast in collaboration with Ericsson and Qualcomm. and Samsung. The trial took place at Borussia Mönchengladbach's stadium on Saturday 22 February, when they played 1899 Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

Vodafone Australia announced that its LTE network now serves more than one million 4G devices in just eight months since its 4G network was launched in June 2013.

This equates to around 30,000 new devices on operator's 4G network every week.

Vodafone New Zealand has started rollout of LTE in Hamilton by switching on 4G at Waikato Stadium and Waikato Hospital and in provincial New Zealand with the launch of 4G at Coromandel holiday hotspots this week.

Vodafone Australia has started offering LTE service to existing prepaid customers onto its 4G network in metropolitan capital cities. From mid-November, Operator will extend LTE service to new prepaid customers as well.
