Zain Saudi Arabia and Huawei, have announced the launch of the first commercial LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation in two frequency bands (Band 1 and Band 3) network in the world.

Nokia Networks and Zain KSA today announced their successful completion of a pilot project using carrier aggregation to combine FDD-LTE bands 1800 and 2100 MHz. Conducted in the western region recently as part of Zain KSA’s network enhancement project.

Nokia Networks announced successful Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call using Zain’s commercial LTE network in Kuwait. For the live HD (high-definition) voice call and video capability, Nokia Networks used its VoLTE solution, and services expertise to successfully conduct the project

The telecommunications service provider Zain Bahrain has launched commercial LTE network in the country. Operator has started 4G services in collaboration with Ericsson.

The Saudi Arabian operator Zain KSA has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as its LTE network supplier and services vendor for Jeddah. The operator aims to address the growing demand for mobile broadband and smartphone data services by refarming its 1800 MHz GSM frequency band to offer 4G services.
