A1 Telekom Austria, Nokia Siemens Networks Demonstrate Carrier Aggregation in Vienna
Nokia Siemens Networks and A1 Telekom Austria has demonstrated carrier aggregation, a LTE-Advanced technology, in Vienna. The live demo included handling large file transfers with a simultaneous video stream and showcased download speeds of 580Mbps.
Carrier aggregation is a distinctive feature of LTE-Advanced that enables operators to increase transmission bandwith for LTE services by combining separated frequency bands. The benefits of this aggregation are higher peak and average data rates for an ever-faster mobile broadband experience.
Nokia Siemens Networks supplied its Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station for the demonstration.
