Bytemobile and Camiant Announce Interoperability for Mobile Broadband and LTE Solutions

in News, LTE

October 29, 2009 | Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in mobile internet solutions for wireless network operators, and Camiant, Inc., the leading provider of policy control and application assurance technology, today announced a joint interoperability partnership. The two companies will focus on collaboratively integrating Bytemobile’s Unison™ Mobile Internet Platform and Camiant’s Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE) to deliver intelligent traffic management solutions and value-added data services for operators as they continue to evolve mobile broadband services including those utilizing Long-Term Evolution (LTE) 4G networks and beyond.

Bytemobile and Camiant solutions are compliant with the Policy and Charging Control (PCC) architecture defined by 3GPP*. These solutions enable operators to provide:

Tiered service plans to monetize the diversity of traffic mix and application usage
Dynamic, widget-based applications and customer notification mechanisms to maximize the utility of operators’ services and assure customer understanding
An improved customer experience through the addition of intelligence to existing services, particularly mobile video services
“Explosive growth in mobile broadband adoption and the increasing sophistication of mobile devices have created tremendous opportunities for operators to deliver a new wave of value-added services,” said Joel Brand, vice president of Product Management at Bytemobile. “We are partnering with Camiant to offer flexible, powerful real-time application and subscriber management capabilities that will result in more efficient network utilization and increased profitability in today’s 3G environments, as well as support the next generation of services in future LTE networks.”
“While next-generation network technologies offer more bandwidth, this bandwidth is being steadily consumed by increasingly internet-savvy customers,” said Randy Fuller, vice president of Business Development at Camiant, Inc. “Together with Bytemobile, we are providing operators with new mechanisms to optimize service offerings and bandwidth consumption over 3G and LTE networks.”

Bytemobile’s Media Optimization solutions also provide operators with flexible control of their network resources. The video reduction capabilities of these solutions can be strategically applied to subscribers based on rate plan, usage profile, video source, device, or any other identifying parameters. As a result, the solutions help operators control network abuse and create new revenue opportunities for customized data services and intelligent pricing plans.
