Cellular Specialties Offers Verizon Approved LTE Repeaters

Cellular Specialties has announced a new addition to their digital repeater line to support the expansion of LTE in-building coverage at 700 MHz. The new Verizon approved LTE repeater provides optimal coverage and connectivity within an enclosed structure – ensuring user accessibility to voice and data applications via smartphones and other 4G wireless devices.

Network capacity demands for mobile phones are growing exponentially due to bandwidth-intensive applications (Twitter, Facebook updates and video) on smartphones and cellular-based laptop connectivity cards. To help alleviate overburdened networks, in 2008, Verizon Wireless paid $4.74 billion dollars for a majority of the C Block spectrum in the 700 MHz band while AT&T picked up 227 licenses in the B Block of the 700 MHz band. To support carrier expansion into the 700 MHz frequency range, CSI developed the first carrier approved LTE repeater to provide uninterrupted, in-building wireless connectivity.

“More than 70 percent of all mobile phone usage is indoors and the nation’s major carriers are investing heavily to ensure that their customers receive reliable and consistent connectivity,” said Scott Goodrich, president, CSI’s Product Division.  â€œWith this announcement, CSI has broadened its leadership as a provider of ubiquitous in-door connectivity for mobile devices to support the adoption of 4G technologies with new Verizon approved LTE repeaters.”

The 700 MHz digital LTE repeater is available in both 1 Watt and ½ Watt power options and also includes the innovative features of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology such as unlimited spectrum agility and sharp filtering, as well as remote control and monitoring capabilities.

The 700 MHz frequency, in-building LTE repeater joins CSI’s existing line offered in Cellular 850, PCS, and dual band Cellular/PCS.
