in News, Femtocell

January 4, 2010 - Percello Ltd, an Israeli fabless semiconductor company developing highly integrated and low-cost digital baseband for UMTS and LTE networks, today announced that Frost & Sullivan, the Growth Partnership company, has presented the company with the 2009 European Technology Innovation of the Year Award for its femtocell baseband processor solutions.

Frost & Sullivan recognized Percello for the unique advantages offered by its baseband processor technology for femtocells, which offers the first fully integrated cost-optimized system on a chip (SoC). The research firm noted that the PRC6500 is the highest capacity baseband processor for UMTS/HSPA+ femtocells, supporting up to 16 simultaneous users and 21.6/5.76 Mbps HSPA+ data rates with sniffing and embedded security capabilities. "Percello's product line is unique and innovative, boasting features which are perfectly aligned to address key markets," said Anil Vijayachandran, technology analyst at Frost & Sullivan.
Frost & Sullivan also recognized Percello for the best impact on customer value, stating: "The significant cost advantage of Percello's products coupled with their capacity advantage would have enormous impact on the return on investment computation of operators when comparing competing solutions."

"We are honored to receive such high recognition from Frost & Sullivan," said Shlomo Gadot, Percello's CEO. "This award, coupled with warm reception from the market, encourages us to continue innovating so that we can offer superior technologies that will help our customers maintain their competitive advantage."
