April 23, 2010 - The main phase of the Dutch auction of 2.6GHz specturm has concluded, with Tele2’s Dutch unit and the cable operators Ziggo and UPC winning radio frequency rights, each received four licences in the 2.6GHz frequency auction

KPN and Vodafone Netherlands each won two licences for in total 20MHz paired spectrum and T-Mobile Netherlands secured one licence for 10Mhz of paired specturm. Tele2, which already operates as a MVNO on the Dutch market, won four licences for in total 40MHz of paired spectrum.

The country's two largest cable operators, Ziggo and UPC, bid together via the joint venture Ziggo 4 BV, and won four licences for in total 40MHz. In a final round to be held on 26 April the operators will be able to bid for specific frequency assignments within the band. The radio frequencies regulator AT then will announce the proceeds from the auction.
