Xplornet Selects Zuora and Salesforce for Billing, Payment

Canada's rural broadband provider Barrett Xplore has selected Zuora and Salesforce for its next-generation, enterprise cloud platform to provide billing, payment and customer management for its broadband services. Zuora is deploying 4G WiMAX broadband network in Canada.

Service providers are deploying and launching new services to meet the demands for 4G, wireless and broadband services from consumers and businesses. To get to market quickly, service providers are embracing cloud computing for the flexibility and agility required to launch their new offerings and better service customers online. To address this shift to the cloud, Barrett selected the combination of two lcloud solutions to power its entire customer acquisition, billing and payments, and customer service processes.

Designed for communication service providers like Barrett, Zuora for Communications enables billing capabilities like pricing, quoting, orders, billing, and payments, and customer care capabilities like change orders, customer cases and renewals inside of Salesforce.

“As we deploy Canada’s first national 4G network, we needed an enterprise cloud solution to deliver subscription management and ensure the best customer service experience in the industry,” said Cathy MacDonald, CIO at Barrett Xplore Inc.

Last week Barrett announced 4G WiMAX services in Ontario. Barrett Xplore , through its Xplornet brand activated its WiMAX high-speed Internet coverage in Prescott and Russell and surrounding areas.
