4G LTE Community Recognizes the Very Best at LTE North America

Dallas, Texas, USA, 15 November 2012 – The 4G LTE community last night recognized the very best in their industry at the Telecoms.com LTE North America Awards gala and dinner at the Fairmont Dallas Hotel. The awards, which took place on the opening day of LTE North America attracting a staggering 800 visitors and 40% carrier attendance, are now in their third year and are designed to celebrate the triumphs and innovations of North America’s LTE marketplace.

With shortlisted companies from the region’s key carriers in the 4G LTE ecosystem, the awards attracted an unprecedented number of entries and this year witnessed the launch of two brand new categories: ‘Best Backhauling Solution’, which was won by Alcatel-Lucent, and ‘Most Innovative LTE Application/Service’, which was won by Gemalto. These categories have been introduced to reflect the influx of LTE networks deployed in North America and its rapidly evolving LTE marketplace.

This year the winners can truly celebrate the hard-work, creativity and dedication that ensures the region remains at the forefront of LTE.”

The award winners included Qualcomm, which won ‘Best Chipset/Processor Product’, Novatel Wireless which won ‘Best LTE Device/Handset’, and Tekelec, which won ‘Best LTE Traffic Management Product’.

  • Best Test/Measurement LTE Product – Ixia 
  • Best LTE RAN Product – Alcatel-Lucent  
  • Best LTE Traffic Management Product – Tekelec 
  • Best Backhauling Solution – Alcatel-Lucent
  • Most Innovative LTE Application/Service – Gemalto 

Organisers of LTE North America have confirmed that the dates for next year’s event are 20 – 21 November 2013 and will once again take place in Dallas, Texas. 2013 is set to be equally as exciting as the event builds on this year’s impressive speaker line-up which included C-level executives from Google, Clearwire, AT&T, US Cellular and News360.
