Green Hills Software Selected by Altair Semiconductor for 4G Wireless Broadband Solutions
SANTA BARBARA, CA — December 6, 2011 — Green Hills Software, the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions, has announced that its compilers, the Green Hills Probe and MULTI® development tool chain, have been used by Altair Semiconductor in the development of its 4G LTE products. Altair is a leading LTE chip supplier with approximately 30 different customer products shipping globally, covering all variants of the LTE standard on a single chipset and software platform.

Altair is a leading developer of ultra-low power, small footprint and high performance 4G LTE chipsets for the 4G wireless broadband technology LTE (Long Term Evolution). LTE meets the requirements of next-generation networks including downlink peak rates of at least 100Mbit/s and uplink of at least 50Mbit/s. The company's product portfolio, which utilizes cores from MIPS Technologies, includes baseband processors, multi-band RF transceivers and a range of reference hardware and product level protocol stack software.
