LTE LABT - a complete suite including link-level and system-level LTE/LTE-A simulators for Matlab

in press-release, IS-Wireless, LTE-Advanced, LTE

Warsaw, Poland – 27 February, 2012. IS-Wireless, a Warsaw-based LTE/LTE-Advanced IPR provider, complements a well-established link-level simulator LTE PHY Lab, with the newly developed system-level simulator LTE MAC Lab. The resulting comprehensive MATLAB-based simulation package is named as LTE LAB™ and is a perfect choice for all R&D engineers, scientists and educators busy with LTE/LTE-A modeling, design and analysis. Analogically,WiMAX LAB™ is a sibling suite for WiMAX modeling.

“With LTE PHY Lab we were first on the market to offer LTE-Advanced functionalities for the MATLAB environment. Today, with LTE LAB™, we believe we have the most complete simulation suite for LTE/LTE-A for MATLAB and we are proud to be the MathWorks Partner. We will continue our efforts in providing the cutting-edge software for the LTE/LTE-A ecosystem.” says IS-Wireless’ CEO Dr. Slawomir Pietrzyk.

LTE LAB™ is a comprehensive MATLAB-based end-to-end simulation suite for LTE/LTE-A. It is the key element of 4G University Suite, which is a set of software products and services targeted at academia. LTE LAB™ possesses the following features:

  • Complete baseband models of eNB and UE (TX/RX, downlink/uplink, TDD/FDD)
  • OFDMA/SC-FDMA processing, PARP reduction, channel coding/decoding, MIMO receivers, time and frequency synchronization, channel estimation and correction
  • Reference waveforms representing all PHY channels and signals
  • System-level simulator reflecting the dynamic network behavior
  • RRM functionalities including link-adaptation and scheduling
  • Fine granularity of implementation
  • Useful help sections with references to the specs
  • Well defined functions’ interfaces allowing to apply client’s realizations

LTE LAB™ can be used at all stages of the LTE software, hardware and IPR development, from research, prototyping and implementation, up to system benchmarking, verification and testing. Moreover, it is indispensable in educational applications such as creation of new or enhancement of existing technical courses, organization of laboratory exercises and finally verification of students’ knowledge.
