in press-release, RadiSys, Small Cell, LTE

HILLSBORO, OR, U.S. - June 26, 2012 - Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions, today announced that SK telesys, a leading Korean telecom equipment manufacturer (TEM), has selected Radisys' award-winning Trillium TOTALeNodeB as the foundation of its small cell product portfolio for early LTE deployments in Korea. The TOTALeNodeB solution has also been recognized as a vital enabling technology on the Small Cell Forum Awards shortlist.

SK telesys chose to integrate the Radisys TOTALeNodeB software solution due to its significant market share in Korea and history of successful LTE small cell deployments. Radisys' Trillium TOTALeNodeB provides TEMs with a complete, integrated LTE eNodeB that is verified across leading small cell system on a chip (SoC) platforms from Radisys' premier silicon partners. The software includes the necessary Radio Resource Management (RRM), Self-Organizing Network (SON) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) functionality necessary for rapid deployment of small cells and is built on top of the deployment proven Trillium LTE protocol stack portfolio.

"The Radisys TOTALeNodeB protocol software enables us to comply with our customers' specific requirements while still delivering our own differentiating features," said Dr. Il-Hyun Sohn, Director, SK telesys. "By leveraging the TOTALeNodeB source code, we can customize and enhance our end product to meet each operator's particular needs, while reducing time to market and financial risk."

Radisys' professional services team can also customize the TOTALeNodeB protocol software to meet the required specifications, allowing TEMs to focus on where they add value. Radisys provides interoperability testing, technical support during the rollout and ongoing maintenance to ensure the integrated solution works with the operator's network properly.

"Since announcing the addition of TOTALeNodeB to our existing Trillium software solutions just four months ago, Radisys has continued to accelerate market share by enabling LTE deployments with some of the leading operators in Korea," said Amit Agarwal, vice president and general manager, software and solutions, Radisys. "We are excited to support SK telesys with a software solution that limits the project risks, cost and complexity as it deploys some of the first LTE femtocells in Korea."
