San Jose, CA and Frisco, TX, USA – February 18, 2013 – SpiderCloud Wireless, Inc., the leading innovator of scalable small cell Enterprise Radio Access Network (E-RAN) systems for mobile operators, and Tango Networks, a leading technology provider that enables enterprises to embrace the power of Mobile Unified Communications with any mobile phone, today announced that the two companies have been working together to help mobile operators deliver Mobile Unified Communications (Mobile UC) services and advanced PBX functionality over scalable enterprise-class small cell networks.

The growing demand for mobility in the workplace requires a targeted multi-access small cell system that extends connectivity across the enterprise without requiring a special handset or dialer application or by forcing mobile voice to go over Wi-Fi. A scalable system that can provide reliable mobile coverage and capacity inside buildings helps mobile service providers monetize their small cell installations by extending Mobile UC services and providing high quality wireless access to enterprise customers.

SpiderCloud is the first company to offer mobile operators with a true multi-mode access system with 3G, LTE/4G and dual-band Wi-Fi for reliable mobile services indoors for enterprise customers of any size. The E-RAN system consists of a Services Node (SCSN) that is deployed inside the enterprise premise. The SCSN creates one trusted tunnel to the operator's core network and can control over 100 self-organizing and multi-access small cells that can be installed in just days using an enterprise-Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN). SpiderCloud is the only company that supports “soft handover” between radio nodes, which ensures that voice calls and data sessions are not dropped as people move within a building. Aggregating all the radio nodes at the services node layer optimizes backhaul and allows service providers and enterprises to more easily control and manage the system.

When combined with Tango Networks’ Small Cell Connect, the joint mobility solution enables mobile operators to provide enterprises with the ability to extend their Mobile UC services and applications, and PBX functionality from their IP telephony network through their small cells as part of the trusted carrier macro-cellular network. The solution extends optimized Mobile UC and PBX functionality and services both inside and outside the enterprise, allowing users to use their mobile phone just like a desk phone.

“We’re pleased to work with SpiderCloud to help enable unmatched mobile connectivity and Mobile UC applications for mobile operators and their enterprise customers,” said Brenda Boehm, President and CEO of Tango Networks. “Our market-leading Mobile UC applications and extensive PBX integration deliver a truly unique solution that provides the seamless mobility users require to effectively conduct business while on-the-go.”

Tango Networks’ solution utilizes a secure tunnel created by the SpiderCloud E-RAN to enable an aggregation point for call signaling between macrocells, small cells, and the enterprise IP telephony infrastructure. This allows enterprise employees to use their existing devices to enjoy familiar PBX call and messaging features – such as integrated voice mail, single number, presence and short-digit dialing – for superior mobility and reachability.

“SpiderCloud and Tango Networks’ joint development efforts help speed up adoption of mobile operator-led Unified Communications services inside the enterprise,” said Michael Gallagher, CEO of SpiderCloud Wireless. “A managed small cell network that provides reliable mobile voice and data access, integrated with the enterprise PBX and IP telephony network, will help enterprise customers save time, money and resources as mobile operators become a trusted partner for mobile services beyond minutes and devices.”

SpiderCloud will be attending Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 25-28. Interested parties can request a meeting by sending an email to meetingrequest@spidercloud.com or by stopping by the company’s meeting room in Hall 2, Room A130.

Tango Networks’ comprehensive solution gives enterprises the ability to extend Mobile UC and PBX capabilities to their users with a high level of control and management that their IT departments demand. Tango Networks’ flexible deployment seamlessly integrates with virtually all IP PBX/Centrex infrastructures, enabling an effective “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) policy that reduces the capital burden on employers, while offering the ability to integrate in CPE, hosted or cloud environments.
