ZTE has announced that it completed the download test using carrier aggregation (CA) technology in a commercial environment in collaboration with Guangdong arm of China Mobile. The test took place in an outdoor TD-LTE network environment. 

SK Telecom has successfully demonstrated a core LTE-Advanced technology named Transmission Mode 9 (TM-9) under partnership with Ericsson, operator announced today.  TM-9 defines the way of transmission between mobile devices and base stations. It has been chosen as a new LTE-A specification by 3GPP in June 2011.

Warsaw-based LTE/LTE-Advanced IPR provider IS-Wireless has acquired funds for research on 5G radio interfaces. The funding is done through participation in 5GNOW European research project under the 7th Framework Program of EU.

AT&T has launched its 4G LTE service in Auburn-Opelika, Ala.; Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Grand Rapids, Mich. and Nashua, NH. With this expansion, AT&T LTE network is now live in 113 markets.

Yota has announced introduction of LTE Advanced technology in select LTE base stations in Moscow. According to operator, it will provide data rates up to 300 Mbit/s on the user's devices. Yota had launched commercial LTE network in Moscow earlier this year.

Nokia Siemens Networks is expanding its LTE portfolio with aim to help mobile operators increase their coverage and further improve network efficiency and speed.
